Type of Study
This review article highlights the potential use of Ayurvedic bhasma for managing Covid-19 by targeting various biochemical processes in the SARS-CoV-2 virus, such as binding, intracellular action, and replication with infected cells. The review draws upon studies of metal ions, nanomaterials, nanoparticles, bhasma, and nanomedicine from both recent and ancient times to predict the utility of bhasma for effective management of Covid-19. The article presents several relevant aspects of bhasma and SARS-CoV-2 virus, including surface charges, the physio-chemical nature of bhasma, and the biochemical and surface binding properties of the virus. It is important to note that the conclusions are drawn primarily from circumstantial evidence rather than direct data.
