Foundational Expansion of Ayurveda...
Ayurveda literally means the knowledge of life, which much broader than what is commonly believed as a system of healthcare of preventative health. The Sanskrit word for health is swasthya, consisting of words, swa = self, and stha = established, meaning when one is not firmly established in oneself, that is in one's own nature or prakriti, it causes unhealthy situation leading in diseases. The self encompasses the entire universe, according to the Vedic philosophy, that actually forms the basis of concepts like Yoga and Ayurveda.
