Q1: You established organizatons such as Wholistic Health Alliance (a 501c3 non-profit), and Council for Ayurveda Research (a 501c3 non-profit), perhaps feeling-that there is a lack of cohesive fora for the advancement of Ayurveda. What do you think are some of the major health issues facing the public where Ayurveda can play a role?
Both these organizations were founded for different reasons. Wholistic Health Alliance (WHA) is a nationally launched 501c3, non-profit organization which I founded with the vision of building healthier communities as well as providing a platform for holistic health practitioners to come together under one umbrella, fostering collaborations, building stronger networks, and enabling greater synergy with the community. WHA currently operates in the states of Massachusetts and Colorado and is actively looking to expand into other states. WHA has also launched a Youth Brigade initiative in 2017 to engage and involve youth in converstations and activities around health and well-being. Council for Ayurveda Research (CAR) on the other had is a pioneering initiative founded to promote and establish founded to promote and establish Ayurveda as an evidence-based health science globally. One of CAR's core goals is to create a platform for the exchange, interaction and integration of information, competencies, expertise and resources between apex academic institutions, researchers, practitioners, and students, in the US as well as in other countries to facilitate Ayurvedic research of the highest global standards. The long-term goal is to become the nodal agency for cross country collaborations and initiatives for research in Ayurveda, with the ultimate aim of establishing Ayurveda globally as a credible healing science. Headquartered in USA, CAR is expanding its vision to other countries, and already has a sister NGO registred in India.
