BRS: How did you get involved with Ayurveda related research?
MB: My group has a significant interest in defining the molecular mechanism of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies including Ayurveda. I grew up in a small village in Northern India where Ayurveda is still a mainstream medicine for treatment of non-communicable diseases that made me very inquisitive to learn underlying mechanisms of Ayurveda therapies.
