Science Discovery, Consumption of Ultra-Processed Foods and Cancer Risk, Results from the NutriNet-Sante Prosepctive Cohort - Diana Lurie

Note from Diana Lurie: Ultra-processed foods are not recommended in an Ayurvedic diet. This study provides scientific evidence that ultra-processed foods are associated with an increased cancer risk. Ayurvedic practitioners can cite this study when counseling their clients on the negative impact of ultra-processed food on health.
Type of Study: This study is a population-based cohort study that involved over 104,000 participants in France. Dietary intakes and health surveys were gathered in order to document and quantify the participant’s
consumption of 3,300 food items. A statistical analysis was performed on the associations between the intake of ultra-processed foods and the risk of overall, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer.
