Fom the Editors Desk, Spring 2019 - Anusha Sehgal
The seasons are changing and as we move into the budding life in nature, we are reminded of the vast impact of our environment. Ayurveda, as a knowledge system of life, reminds us that the individual is composed of much more than merely this physical body. In fact, °cÀrya Caraka at the advent of his text describes the components involved in the existence of a being. Combination of the oearÁra (body), indriyas (sensory organs), sattva (mind), and ÀtmÀ (soul/consciousness) is that which is defined as jÁvitam (a living being). This issue focuses on the unique and expansive nature of the mind as well as exploring the common disorders that arise in clinical practice.
